Every country on this map has an Africa Circular representative: a regional coordinator, a national focal point, or both. Select your country to see who they are, read the projects and articles published there, and contact them directly.
Regional coordinators connect and coordinate our work across countries. National focal points contribute local knowledge within their own country. Explore the people and published projects below.
From policy development to project implementation.
Circularity in Africa succeeds when the people shaping policy and the people doing the work are connected. That connection is what we build.

Trusted by the institutions building Africa's transition.
Policy, finance and delivery — Africa Circular works alongside continental bodies, development banks and national agencies to move circularity from strategy to sites.
The circular economy is an economic model that keeps products and materials in use for as long as possible — through reuse, repair, remanufacturing and recycling — instead of the take-make-waste pattern of a linear economy. In Africa, it is a practical route to jobs, resource security and climate resilience.
How is the circular economy different from recycling?
Recycling is only the last resort of a circular economy. Circularity starts much earlier: designing waste out of products, keeping goods in use through repair, reuse and sharing, and returning materials safely into production. Recycling handles what remains after those higher-value loops.
What does Africa Circular do?
Africa Circular is a pan-African non-profit network that connects governments, funders and institutions with verified African circular economy experts. We deliver national roadmaps, EPR schemes, market studies and pilots — and we document every project so the next country can move faster.
Which countries does Africa Circular work in?
Africa Circular works across North, West, Central, East and Southern Africa, plus island countries. The active network connects experts and focal points in 54 countries, while the Country Explorer makes all 54 African countries discoverable. Documented projects include Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Tunisia, Senegal, Benin, Zambia and Ethiopia.
